With the advent of New GL many existing companies on SAP would like to go for SAP New GL. Migrating to SAP New GL is a project in itself.

1) Date of migration is at the beginning of a fiscal year.
2) Year end closing of old fiscal year must be completed prior to migration and activation of New
GL
3) After successful data migration, New GL will be activated.

1) Planning and Configuration (Phase 0)
1a) Test complete New GL configuration in test system with active New GL
1b) Start of migration cockpit and test migrations in test system
1c) Transport New GL customizing in production system (New GL not active yet)
2) Migration testing (Phase 1)
2a) Test migration on a recent copy of production system
3) Go live (Phase 1)
3a) Perform migration of production system
3b) Activation of new gl after successful migration
4) New GL is live (Phase 2)
4a) Execute activation phase in migration cockpit in production system
4b) Activity in migration cockpit: Finish migration
The SAP New GL migration service is an obligatory service to be conducted by SAP.
The SAP New GL migration service is only for quality assurance.
